Workshop outcomes
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
1. Sing six signed songs (using Auslan key signs)
2. Sign basic words to help children with their daily routine
3. Understand how to sign appropriately for children
4. Relay this information to your colleagues and parents
Benefits for your centre:
• Better communication can develop between staff and
children. Baby signing helps pre verbal babies communicate
before they are able to talk themselves. It is also beneficial
to toddlers who have a little language by helping them to
communicate better.
• Baby Signing has been shown to reduce frustration,
increase IQ, improve memory and is beneficial to language
development.
• Learning sign language involves using both sides of
the brain; therefore more cerebral synapses are stimulated.
• As signing is very visual it is an excellent way for
children who have SEN to help them with their communication
and understanding of words. It can also help them to understand
the daily routine better.
• Bilingual children can also benefit if they see the
same sign for a word in their home language and in English-
so it is very important to keep parents informed.
• Music and singing help develop children’s language
development, Tiny Tots Sign teaches 6 well known nursery rhymes
and songs with signed resource sheet.
Price
• A 2 hour workshop is $25 per person
• A minimum of 5 must attend. Maximum of 10 people
• A DEPOSIT OF $100 MUST BE PAID TO SECURE BOOKING
