The value of teaching Darcy to sign is confirmed to me time & time
again. The first time he signed was at around 8 months, when he asked
for a bottle ("milk"). He can excitedly point out "birds"
or ask for a "banana" or tell me he wants a "bath"
& then sign the names of all his bath toys ("octopus", "seal",
"fish", "turtle" etc), but the benefits go far, far
beyond this: At 13 months he was able to tell me he had “fun”
at kindy , and that Grandma was his “friend”, and my heart
melted the first time he smiled at me gently and did the sign for “
I love you”. Now at 18 months he can express emotions. He can tell
me when he is feeling “sad” or “angry”, and after
a very restless night he informed me in the morning that he had felt “scared”.
The level of communication you can have with your child is limited only
by the amount you use signs in everyday communication. Both my husband
and I go to classes with him, which means we sign consistently together.
It has enriched all our lives, and the problems other parents seem to
have with temper tantrums and communication frustrations are virtually
non-existent in our lives.
I would recommend Tiny Tots Sign to anyone, and we will definitely take
any more children we may have to Ali’s classes too.

My sons Nathan (5) and Matthew (2) love Tiny Tots Sign. Ali's class is
well organised and just the right length of time to keep them captivated
from start to finish. Ali has lots of different songs and props that relate
to every day life with useful signs that are helping me communicate better
with the children. Ali always gives us a lesson plan at the end with all
the signs we have learnt to jog the memory if we forget.

Tiny Tots Sign has been great for our family. Being able to communicate
non- verbally has taken out a lot of the frustrations of everyday living.
It has helped us communicate with our 2 1/2 year old. Signs like food,
drink, toilet are invaluable. Our 5 month old also enjoys the class; she
loves the music and singing. Now that my family knows baby signing we
will be able to communicate with her at a much younger age. We look forward
to going each week, the classes are fun and we've made some new friends.
I'd recommend it to anyone with a baby or young toddler.

Michael has gone ahead in leaps and bounds with his signing and now will
sign "finished", "biscuit" (of course!), "toilet",
"bye", "hot"," aeroplane" and "where".
He loves using the "where" sign and constantly uses it when
the Red Baron has flown overhead to say 'where has it gone?' Being a boy
he's a little slower with the speech than some of his little girl friends
but with his signs he is able to get across most of what he wants.
